While we celebrate this milestone, the work in rescue is never done. Although we've met our goal for the matching grant, we must continue to fundraise. For as long as animals need Saving Sage, we need your donations.

Last year, Saving Sage Animal Rescue impacted over 10,000 animals through vetting, spay & neuter, rescue, and adoptions. We are one of the most respected and responsible no-kill rescues in South Florida and we are critical in managing the dire animal overpopulation in Broward County, especially in times like these when Broward County Animal Control and the Broward Humane Society are closed for intake. The South Florida community relies on us to fill the gap left by the municipal high-kill shelters and to help with prevention through our low-cost clinic and TNR services. We need your help today to continue this mission.

A few months ago, we learned that our shelter building had been sold. Our first concern was all the animals who would have nowhere to go if our all-volunteer rescue couldn't find a new building. We scrambled to place all of our dogs and cats in foster/adoptive homes. As we packed up our shelter and loaded the UHaul (during the first tropical storm of 2022), we finally received word that a lease was signed on a new building.

The future Saving Sage Animal Shelter & Clinic is located on Commercial Blvd in Sunrise, FL and offers 5,000 square feet of interior space plus a large outdoor lot. It has the potential to be a dream, state-of-the-art animal rescue facility. The clinic will be one of few low-cost spay/neuter and vaccine facilities in South Florida, which helps to reduce the overabundance of homeless animals on our streets.

It will be months before we're ready to house any animals because the space must be transformed from an office building into a shelter. We need to build dog kennels, drainage, cat cages, grooming rooms, and outdoor runs. We need to purchase equipment and set up our clinic and lab. We need to design a cozy adoption room where families will meet their new best friends. We need your help making this dream come true.

You can include your personal story, photos, and videos to share why Saving Sage Animal Rescue is a cause you're passionate about.
