Say YES to Duplexes
We believe that the people who make Evanston a great place to live—our teachers, small business owners, young families, and seniors—should be able to afford to live here.
That's why we're working to educate our neighbors about zoning reform and get people excited about allowing more diverse housing, like duplexes, in Evanston to provide more housing options, reduce housing costs, and create more vibrant, inclusive neighborhoods.
Evanston loves duplexes! Mayor Daniel Biss and 3rd ward Alderman candidate John Kennedy both live in duplexes, and recent Land Use Commission chair Matt Rogers supports allowing duplexes throughout Evanston.
But, there's a lot of confusion and misinformation out there right now about zoning reform.
The truth is that the zoning reform being considered at the City Council is about allowing more types of homes, like duplexes, to be built in more neighborhoods around town—not about getting rid of single family homes!
We've created a fun and engaging yard sign that we would love to get into yards all over town to change the conversation and help people understand what zoning reform is really about.
But of course, this costs money.
Can you chip in a few bucks to help us print more signs to spread the word about our campaign?
