Help fund our 2026 Science IRL mini-grant program!

For our second year, Skype a Scientist is able to offer a few mini-grants to support offline science communication projects in communities across the United States. 

We want to encourage science communicators to get out into their communities and connect science with their neighbors. We know that our community is full of creative people with great ideas, but funding these projects can be time consuming and challenging. We want to make it easier for scientists to get these projects off the ground and into their communities.

We will be offering mini-grants between $300 and $1000 depending on the needs of the project.

When evaluating projects, preference will be given to:

- Individuals with experience in science communication

- Projects focusing on humanity's major crises (climate change, biodiversity, public health, etc).

- Projects that serve regions/populations where little to no science communication is prioritized
