Anchor Points Initiative Summary
What it is
Anchor Points is Invincikids’ new VR/XR suite that equips youth with practical, engaging tools to manage stress and anxiety and build resilience. It leverages calming, narrative-driven experiences, movement, and the voices of professional athletes to normalize help-seeking and strengthen skills for everyday challenges.
Why now
Youth mental health demand far exceeds available care. Pediatrics (2022) reports 1 in 6 U.S. children (~7.7M) have a diagnosable condition; only ~10% accessed a mental health professional in 2016–2019, with even lower access in rural and underserved communities. Since 2018, diagnoses have risen 28% (AJMC, Apr 2024). Affordable, stigma-reducing supports are urgently needed.
Why Invincikids
Since 2019, Invincikids has delivered no-cost immersive technology (VR/MR/MobileXR) that reduces pain and anxiety, cuts reliance on pharmacologics, and boosts rehab activity. We:
Partner with 135 health systems globally
Offer 12 clinically tested applications used for blood draws, burn care, and chronic pain PT
Have supported 30,000+ children with measurable outcomes in pain reduction, activity, and emotional regulation
Our infrastructure and clinical network uniquely position us to scale youth mental wellness solutions.
The solution
Anchor Points packages proven methods—CBT, mindfulness & regulation (breathing, grounding, PMR), and solution-focused strategies—in immersive environments shown to enhance engagement and neuroplasticity. It runs on standard VR headsets and low-cost smartphone viewers, widening access for communities farthest from care.
How it reduces stigma
Athlete-narrated stories and movement-rich experiences frame mental wellness as a strength, offering a positive, culturally relevant entry point—especially where therapy or medication may be stigmatized.
Access & equity
Through Invincikids’ rapidly expanding provider network and community partners, Anchor Points prioritizes deployment in low-resource settings (including global and refugee contexts), ensuring innovative, drug-free interventions aren’t limited to elite institutions.
Impact & evaluation
Outcomes focus: stress reduction, anxiety management, resilience, and skill acquisition
Built-in measurement: best-practice tools with community partners; formal research with clinical partners
Expert guidance: a Special Interest Group in youth mental health informs pilots and protocols
What’s next
With support, Invincikids will launch nationwide in 2026, reaching hundreds of thousands of youth with accessible, effective immersive mental wellness tools.
