Planting Seeds of Change: Support Porchlight’s Seed Library
Planting Seeds of Change
At Porchlight Community Services, we believe everyone deserves access to fresh, nutritious food. That’s why we’ve been providing a FREE Community Seed Library — a free resource where neighbors can pick up seeds to grow their own fruits, vegetables, and herbs at home.
Why seeds? Because one small packet has the power to:
- Grow food for an entire season
- Stretch grocery budgets for families who may not qualify for traditional assistance
- Build self-sufficiency and resilience
- Reduce food waste by encouraging people to grow what they actually use
But here’s the challenge: starting a sustainable seed library takes more than passion. It requires funding to purchase seeds and keep the library stocked year-round. While we rescue food weekly, seeds aren’t often donated in large enough quantities to sustain the program.
That’s where you come in.
Your donation helps us:
- Buy bulk seeds at discounted nonprofit rates
- Partner with local nurseries and national seed companies
- Provide free seeds for every household that visits Porchlight
- Keep this project going long after the first planting season
Every dollar plants a possibility.
Whether you give $10, $25, or more, you’re helping families grow fresh food from their own backyards, patios, or windowsills. Together, we can cultivate not just gardens, but a more sustainable, equitable, and food-secure community.
Join us in planting seeds of change — donate today.
