BIO: Penelope Jewell lives in Bolton Landing, New York, and was initiated into the Usui System of Natural Healing (Reiki) by Linda Keizer Mardis in 1985. She became the first Teaching Master in New York State. She taught hundreds of classes and workshops in Reiki, Self-Empowerment, and personal mastery from Alaska and Hawaii to Scotland, England, Trinidad and Tobago, Bali, Indonesia, and Nepal. She has spoken at Reiki gatherings in British Columbia, the United Kingdom, Spain, France, and Holland.

Penelope was one of the first Reiki Masters to bring Reiki into AIDS centers at the Living Room in Cleveland, Ohio and the Globe Center in London. She worked and taught Reiki in leper communities in Bali and Nepal. She served on the Board of The Reiki Alliance and was a founding members of the NorthEast Reiki Gathering. She was a member of the faculty of the Omega Institute in Rhinebeck, New York, and taught for several years with the International Women's Writing Guild at Skidmore College.

Penelope is the author of two books on Reiki: A Guide to Your Practice of Reiki Energy Healing (1995) and A Master's Path (2002).
