Sheila Anderson Legacy Fund

Sheila Anderson was a beloved artist, educator, board member, and champion of the Gunnison Arts Center. Her passion, creativity, and dedication helped shape the heart of our ceramics program and left a lasting mark on our entire organization. In honor of her incredible contributions, the Sheila Anderson Legacy Fund has been established to preserve her legacy and ensure the future of ceramics education at the GAC.

Our thriving clay studio, established in the early 2000's with the guidance of Sheila - features 8 pottery wheels, a handbuilding area, and a paint-your-own-pottery section. A key new feature is the Clay Collective Gallery, just outside the studio, celebrating local ceramic artists and their work.

This fund will support:

• Naming rights of the clay studio in Sheila’s honor

• Ongoing tuition assistance through the Sheila Anderson Clay Studio Tuition Assistance Fund, held at the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley

• Long-term program stability, helping ensure that ceramics education remains accessible to all ages and abilities for years to come
