Thank you! U-TOUCH our lives!

“To see these Ugandan students, who have faced obstacles that are almost unimaginable to us in San Diego, achieve such tremendous academic success is truly inspiring. The fact that they are gravitating into fields that will allow them to serve their home community is testament to both their scholastic and ethical growth. They were fortunate that the U-TOUCH program was there to assist early on and that it will continue to support their endeavors. We, in turn, are fortunate to have the ability to improve so many lives in so many ways.” Jim Essex, LJHS AP English Lit Teacher

Gloria

I am called Aber Gloria Emma. I am Acholi from northern Uganda and Ugandan by nationality. I’m hereby submitting my appreciation letter to U-TOUCH and all its generous donors. The joy that you have brought into my life is beyond words. I can say I would not have been the person I am today if it weren’t for your constant support, hard work, and love towards me.

My journey with you started way back in 2006. I was a little kid back then, 4 1/2 years old in nursery school and it was only due to your caring support that I attended school. I loved to read, sing and dance then until now. I want to really thank U-TOUCH for working hard to support my education and making my days’ worth memorable.  Now I’m pursuing a diploma in business administration and after I would love to enroll for a Bachelor's degree. I’m so grateful that I’m still able to continue studying and not give up on my academic path all because of your support and love. So many students have dropped out with no tuition funds, but I want to promise you all that no matter the situation that comes my way, I will not give up on my studies until I achieve my desired goal of becoming an independent individual and giving it back to the society. I was raised and grew up knowing that I would have to do what was done to me by U-TOUCH, to other people. Extending support to the people in need will always be my goal since it was what nurtured and taught me. Once again, I would like to send my utmost appreciation for the kind heart you have been having towards sponsoring and making sure that I am in school. Without your support, I would’ve been a nobody in this world and I want to say thanks so much for all the good deeds you have done and thanks for the love and care you have shown me.

I will always do my best in seeing that my performance in school is worth your daily efforts. The greatest thing that I’ve achieved in my first semester this year is being a class coordinator. It looks to be a minor responsibility but to me, it means a lot. I look forward to being a Pronoun Leader who will always be the voice of the voiceless. The love for being a leader was major that your constant support built in me. The sense of being there for others was triggered by the fact that I benefitted and continue to, from the people who always show love, kindness and care for my needs.

I will forever be indebted to all for donating and the funds raised to sponsor me in school.  I once again say thank you all for everything you have done for me. I’m so grateful.

Yours faithfully,

Aber  Gloria Emma

GORETTY

I would like to send my sincere appreciation to all donors of U-TOUCH for fundraising for my tuition and keeping me in school.

Without my U-TOUCH family I would have not made it in life. It is through your efforts that will make me to achieve my goals. Now I can call myself someone to gain respect in the community. In Uganda, you need an education to have respect from others. For that reason, I would like to say thank you for everything you are doing through fundraising for my tuition fees and school requirements. May you always be blessed for the help you are providing me and all the other sponsored students.
.
I am the first child to my parents with two younger brothers. After losing our parents when I was 7 years old, I became the parents to my siblings. I used to collect and sell firewood which everyone uses for cooking. I used the money for buying food and I cooked for the three of us. In my future I will help the needy through giving them an education, by teaching them and showing them the love and caring for them as you, at U-TOUCH  have shown me. I will give back the love and care to the people like me, who have been raised by you. Even now I am speaking out for the voiceless. I was selected as the only girl to present to the government at the Uganda Parliament in Kampala, the capital, as a voice for the youth. I promise to give back to the youth and U-TOUCH because without U-TOUCH I would not make it in life. I love you all!

Emmanuella

Letter of appreciation to U-TOUCH the World!

I am Agenorwot Emmanuella Lapyem, I am a U-TOUCH sponsored student. I am 16 years old and a senior two (9th grade) student of St Mary’s High School.

I want to send my sincere gratitude to the generous donors of U-TOUCH for my Education. You have changed my life.  Even my neighbors who used to laugh at me when I was sent back home from school due to lack of tuition fees for a full three-month term, now cannot believe where I am studying. The glory goes back to U-TOUCH donors.

With U-TOUCH support I started attending school full time and my performance has extremely improved. My best subjects are English, Biology, Chemistry, Geography, and Agriculture. I so much enjoy reading books which expands my knowledge. I also enjoy sports like football (soccer) which I play for my school and enjoy singing on tour.

Uganda, being a third-world country, life in here is not easy. The level of unemployment has taken the higher percentage which is leading to so many bad things happening to teenagers, especially girls. So many girls are dropping out of school and there a quite a number of teenage pregnancies nationwide, but greatly in northern Uganda where I come from. I am so delighted that U-TOUCH has covered me up from those situations.

I am so happy that I am now at school being sponsored by U-TOUCH. My wish for the future is to become a lawyer or a doctor.  If I achieve one of these, I will be so very happy. I am sure my dreams will come true now as I want to change our family situation. The six of us sleep in a one-room rented hut which is no longer appropriate for us as teenagers. I so much want to help others through my education as you are helping me. I will use your gift seriously to help change our family and others like us.

I want to send my sincere gratitude to the donors of U-TOUCH for my Education. You have changed my life!

Clarissa

My name is Lagum Clarissa Kristin, I was born on 29th August, 2014 at 10:00 am I live in Gulu, Uganda and attend El-Shaddai Nursery and Primary School and in Primary Three.

I love music, dance and drama, reading and swimming, telling stories and above all, I love attending school that I even wake up so early by 6:00 am to prepare for school yet our classes start at 7:30 am. I am always the first to enter our class and my teachers love me so much for my passion to attend school. When I am home, I fetch water, wash utensils and help my sister with her home chores. My favorite places are school, swimming pool (natural ponds), parks, supermarkets (small markets) where I can occasionally buy ice cream, and our home “living room” where the family comes together and shares food.

I would like to appreciate all the U-TOUCH kind and generous donors for supporting the Uganda Sponsored Students Campaign to fund my school sponsorship. Because of you I can now concentrate well on my studies without worry of being asked to leave for the lack of funds to pay for school fees and the requirements. With the support of U-TOUCH I would like to become a doctor when I grow up so that I am able to treat my grandmother who is always sick and to help others like you are helping me.

Elvis

I am Elvis. I am 8 years old, and I am in primary three class at El Shiddah Primary School. I really thank U-TOUCH and all its donors for sponsoring my education. By paying my school tuition fees and all the requirements I can stay in school without being sent away. I am grateful you put me in school so I can have a bright future. I am learning many new things, and my best subjects are Mathematics and Science.

I am coming from a family of three children and am the first-born. I have grown up with my mother while my father left us when I was three years old. I always help my mom by washing utensils, sweeping the compound (dirt around a hut) and by helping my sister with her homework, playing football (soccer), and riding a bicycle.  In the future, I want to become an Engineer when I finish school and help other children the way you have all helped me and my family. I am grateful for your hard work and generosity, keeping me in school and giving me a good future.
Thank you for loving me.

ESTHER

My name is Esther, and I am 4 years old. I am in K2 class, and I go to El Shaddai Nursery and Primary School. I want to appreciate all the donors of U-TOUCH for sponsoring my education so that I can be in school. If you did not support my education I would not be in school. Thank you! My favorite subjects are science and mathematics and I like reading story books, swimming in ponds, and helping my mother with cleaning our hut. I also help by fetching water from the well we use for cooking, cleaning, and washing.
My mother is a single mother, and she has taken care of us since I was young. I am the second born to my brother and I also have a younger brother. I love my mother and brothers and want to become a doctor when I grow up to help so many people who are sick and need help. I want to help others as you have helped me have an education and a good life.  Without your love I would not have a future.
Thank you caring kind donors, U-TOUCH, for supporting me
