The Bradford Balladeers' Story

ShowUs Montclair! is proud to introduce the Bradford Balladeers! They are five educators, actors, and/or musicians who have gotten to know each other mostly through a production of “[title of show]” in Nutley, NJ. They dedicate their MFEE song to their dear departed director Ron Mulligan, who passed away in 2021. One of the Balladeers, Tim White, has a daughter (Sutton) at Bradford, so the group chose their MFEE act name as a shout out to the Bradford School.

Tim White is a Montclair dad who is glad to put his community theatre experience to work for MFEE. He and his husband, Keith, moved to Montclair in 2017. They had both their children at the MSU Ben Samuels Children’s Center and their son is still there. Tim is a history professor by day and an avid theater lover by night. He is proud to have been part of Nutley Little Theater’s recent production of “ [title of show]”, a musical that explores the relationship of 4 friends as they try to mount a Broadway show. He is also a product of CA public schools and is delighted to come out for MFEE in support of public education.

Jess Hope Katz is in her 12th year of Public School English Teaching and a community theatre actress and singer.  She loves her students, performing, her friends and her adorable Cat Brothers, Morty and Shmulie. Jess and Tim have performed “A New Brain” at NLT and “Title of Show” there. “Title of Show” was one of her favorite experiences theatrically, and she owes it to Ron Mulligan, who will always be one of her favorites.

Marsha Schreier: After a second career in musical theatre in which she musically directed well over 100 community theater shows, Marsha has retired and now lives at the Jersey shore. She spends her time walking on the boardwalk and beach with her husband, visiting her children and baby grandson, reading and writing music and (hopefully) a book about her college a cappella group. Marsha continues to sing as a Cantorial soloist with a synagogue in Freehold and plays keyboard whenever she can fit it in her ever-so-busy retirement schedule! She wants to thank the late Ron Mulligan for bringing her into the [title of show] family.

Gerson Checo is a New Jersey City University alum under the Musical Theater department where he has played roles such as USNAVI (In the Heights), DAN GOODMAN (Next to Normal), TERRY CONNOR (Side Show), SHREK (Shrek the Musical) and more. Gerson is honored to share the stage with such a talented group of performers. As a public school graduate himself, including his college alma mater (NJCU), he is honored to help support public education through this concert.

Crystal Ann Bennett is an actress, piano and voice teacher in NJ. More details about Crystal will be coming soon.

The Bradford Balladeers are excited to bring their music to our stage to support MFEE and our schools and we can’t wait to see their performance!
