Earlier this year, RSVP of Central Oklahoma applied for a renewable three-year AmeriCorps Seniors grant that would support operations through 2029. These federal grants have always been our primary sustaining source of funding. This is typically awarded to us on April 1 each year, but federal delays have resulted in a new notice of award date of June 15, with awards being distributed as late as August.

That's a funding gap of up to 4 months.

While we are optimistic, we are also actively preparing to ensure continuity of service, because we know how important RSVP members are to the work this community does. In the last program year alone, our members contributed more than 40,000 volunteer hours in Central Oklahoma, representing over $1.2 million in value to local organizations.

Every day, older adult volunteers support your organization’s ability to meet real community needs. RSVP of Central OK is essential to these volunteers. We provide supplemental accident & liability insurance, volunteer placement and support, an annual appreciation event, regular communications, and connection with services for older adults. These services matter, and we are committed to showing up without interruption.

To strengthen our position, we are launching this community giving campaign and taking proactive steps to sustain volunteer coordination and support systems. Here’s what your gift can make possible:

$100 equips 15 new volunteers with the tools needed to get started
$200 brings 20 members together for a Community Connections event, reducing isolation and building purpose
$300 supports one month of materials for KnitServe, providing essential items to NICU families and children managing diabetes
$500 sustains vital systems that coordinate volunteers across more than 50 partner sites
