Tzu Jan Si-Hing Seminar #1 - General Registration

This is the first in a series of monthly seminars that we will presenting in 2026👍🤙

Theses seminars will re-establish the old "Tzu Jan Si-Hing" Group - a group of advanced Martial Artists who come together to share with one another and learn from each other in an atmosphere of mutual respect and collaboration.

Members of the "Tzu Jan Si-Hing" group will be hand-picked from these seminars and will form a private group that will have the opportunity to get together weekly and share in a "members only" class, once the group totals ten members.

Until that time, EVERYONE who attends one of our "Tzu Jan Si-Hing Group Seminars" will have the option of scheduling one two-hour private (1 on 1) or semi-private (2-3 people) lesson with Sifu Charlie at his apartment in Newport, Washington. (These classes are typically $50 each, but you can schedule up to one per week for the entire month following the seminar that you paid to attend - absolutely FREE!!!)

Once we have a group of ten Si-Hings, we will start the weekly classes for that group of people - and the Si-Hings will be allowed to attend the 6-hour "Si-Hing Group Seminars at no extra charge (as part of their monthly classes).

The seminars will be priced at $100. Once the group of 10 Si-Hings has been established, the Si-Hings will pay the same $100 rate for monthly tuition (which will include being able to attend the monthly seminars).

The SEMINARS will be 6 hours in length (but you can come late and/or leave early if your personal schedule requires it). They will start at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m. There will be an hour for lunch (or for free play/sharing if you don't want to go and have some food) and an hour at the end where attendees can share something with the group if they would like. Sifu Charlie Hicks will be assisted by Steve Altfillisch and will be presenting a combination of Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun, FMA and Tzu Jan Martial Art for the first four hours of each seminar, and the last hour will be group sharing. (We will include drills for skill development - such as Chi Sao and other drills - and light sparring during the last hour if none of the attendees wish to share.)

The profits from both the SEMINARS and the Si-Hing classes (once formed) will go to the Joni's Angels Martial Arts Scholarship Program to pay for poverty-level youth students to attend a year's worth of classes at one of our great Guardians Network Member Schools ... so join us for a GREAT MARTIAL ARTS EXPERIENCE and  a TON OF FUN, and you'll be helping us help young people discover the joy of studying Martial Art!

This first SI-HING GROUP SEMINAR will include STICK, KNIFE and EMPTY HAND techniques and drills from FMA, WING CHUN, JKD and TZU JAN MARTIAL ART. We will be focusing on the application of SIMULTANEOUS ATTACK/DEFENSE, "WHAT IFS" (learning how to adapt to the things that can happen while you are in the midst of your technique or counter), EFFECTIVE FOLLOW-UPS, and learning how to use similar movement patterns/techniques in STICK, KNIFE and EMPTY-HAND applications. This is a seminar that YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS!!!

This unique fundraising event takes place at NORTH IDAHO JIU JITSU, 1411 N. Division Avenue, Unit D, Sandpoint, ID 83864 on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 30th, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
