Add to Calendar 2023-04-14 18:00:00 America/Chicago Silver Strands Celebration 2023 Join us for this year’s Silver Strands Celebration honoring the memory of Nick Hostler in recognition of his passion for inclusion for people with developmental disabilities. The celebration will take place on Friday, April 14, 2022 at Hickory Hills Country Club. Proceeds benefit Friends of Abilities First. Cocktails and Hors d'oeuvres at 6:00pm, Dinner at 7:00 pm. Nick’s influence throughout his 35 years of life seemed to be defined by his gift of encouraging individuals to be their best self. He was a special education teacher with Springfield Public Schools, and he was determined to have his students experience life in the same way as their peers. Silver Strands Celebration honors citizens who have made a positive impact on our community for people with developmental disabilities. Proceeds from Silver Strands Celebration benefit Friends of Abilities First, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that assists with the needs and expenses incurred by people with developmental disabilities in our community.
