All ALTO Expeditions are led by experienced military veterans, focused on core military skills, and provide the unique environment to build strong relationships, bridge cultural barriers, and build community through transformative experiences.

Most importantly, we provide equitable access to these life-changing experiences to 50% of all our participants via scholarships to cover tuition, equipment and expenses for young adults who otherwise would not be able to afford these experiences.

Each expedition blends military veterans, recipients of need-based scholarships, and conventional clients, creating a dynamic and inclusive hybrid that creates a rich tapestry of experiences and perspectives that enriches every expedition and creates real, lasting empathetic relationships.

These organic relationships formed lead to improved empathy, more diverse and inclusive professional networks, and an increase in opportunity for under-served members of the community. Additionally, all participants experience improved health outcomes, emotional and mental health, and an appreciation for the outdoors.

Project Alto provides the opportunity for donors to fund excursions for under-served youth that covers the equipment, resources, tuition expenses, and logistical support to get recipients of scholarships outdoors on ALTO expeditions.

$25: One Student's meals for a day out on the trail
$75: One student's hiking backpack
$100: One student's hiking boots and sleeping pad
$900: One student's full tuition+equipment, including all necessary equipment, logistical cost and insurance.
