Hope for Kitties; Fight FIP (Feline Infectious peritonitis) together!
Every day, countless kittens and cats are diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). In the past, this diagnosis was fatal, but now there is hope. The medication available is saving lives, however, the treatment process is long and expensive. Most families and rescues do not have the funds for the treatment which includes 84 days of medication (injections), another 84 days of observation, regular bloodwork, vet visits and supportive care.
How your donation helps:
Medication ~ FIP medication is highly effective, but costly. The average young kitten (and this goes by weight) could cost appox. $700-$1000. For a full grown cat, the medication could get into the thousands, depending, again, on weight.
Bloodwork~ Regular bloodwork is required in order to monitor their progress, letting us know if meds need to be adjusted.
Vet visits~ Routine check-ups are necessary. Emergency visits sometimes happen if there are complications.
Supportive Care~ Additional treatments such as fluids, supplements and pain management are crucial to ensure a successful recovery.
Your donation will go directly to the treatment, care and support for FIP kitties. The picture of the little orange boy is Biscuit. He is one of our fosters and is in the middle of his FIP treatment. He is doing well and we are hopeful that he will be cured. He is our 4th kitty with this illness. We lost 2. One was cured, got adopted and is living his best life. Now Biscuit is battling. He's our FIP warrior.
We are so grateful and we thank you very much for your support!
