THE SMARTS

Flags are at half-staff across the city of Silsbee as the community mourns the loss of four members of the Smart family, killed in a UTV crash on Friday night in rural Silsbee on July 25, 2025.

Among the victims was Melissa Smart, executive director of the Silsbee Chamber of Commerce. Blue ribbons have been tied around trees and pillars throughout downtown in her honor as the community rallies around the grieving Crane abd Smart families.
