As of 2026, there are 529 bills in the US being legislated that seek to block trans people from receiving basic healthcare, education, legal recognition, and the right to publicly exist. There are 5 in New York alone.

Southern Finger Lakes Pride exists to provide support to all members of the LGBTQIA+ community, but most specifically the youth who are being raised in a political climate where their right to safely and peacefully exist is under attack before their lives have even truly begun
