Meet Leslie

Leslie has been incarcerated for 15 years. His daughter, Kanye, is 16, soon to be 17, and she has been his biggest encouragement from behind the walls. “Every time I call her in a dark moment, she lifts me up,” Leslie says. “She tells me, ‘Dad, you’re coming home soon. Keep your head up and keep praying. God’s going to make a way.’”

It’s been about a year since he’s seen her in person. Now, he’s eager for the Father-Daughter Dance. “I’d tell her how much I love her, and I apologize for all the years I’ve missed. I hope she forgives me, and I’ll make it up to her with this dance — for every school dance I missed before.”
