Known affectionately as “The Deuces,” 22nd Street South has been a cornerstone of Black excellence in St. Petersburg since the early 20th century. It was once a bustling hub of commerce, culture, and creativity, home to icons like the Manhattan Casino, where legends such as Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington performed.

Though this district has faced economic and systemic challenges over the years, its spirit remains unbreakable. Soul on the Deuces is a tribute to that resilience—and a bold step toward its continued revival.
