The Southside Robotics Club (SSRC) is a collaborative program between the Latino Community Development Agency (LCDA) and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers – Oklahoma City Chapter (SHPE-OKC), in partnership with FIRST Robotics.

SSRC serves 7th–12th grade students in South Oklahoma City, providing hands-on learning in STEM. Students design, build, and program robots while developing critical skills in problem-solving, leadership, and communication.

Through this program, participants not only explore STEM career pathways but also connect with mentors and professionals who guide them in applying engineering concepts to real-world challenges. By competing in FIRST Robotics challenges, students gain valuable experience in innovation and collaboration.

SSRC empowers the youth to see themselves as leaders, innovators, and future professionals in science and technology, while fostering pride in their community and heritage.
