Alzheimer's disease has a profound and often heartbreaking impact on families, as it slowly strips away the memories and identity of a loved one. As the disease progresses, caregivers are faced with the emotional and physical toll of watching someone they care about become increasingly confused, disoriented, and dependent. The strain on family members can be overwhelming, with many experiencing feelings of grief, frustration, and helplessness. As the daughter and granddaughter of people who had Alzheimer's Disease, I have directly witnessed the toll this takes on individuals and families. Through the work of the Giving Voice Foundation, individuals and families are able to find support that is often scarce in other communities.
