Spencer Sprint
3rd Annual Spencer Sprint
Join Jack "Spencer" LaRoche in running a 1 mile sprint on May 22nd in honor of his late father, Chris Spencer who was an avid runner. Jack started the Spencer Sprint in 2020 to honor his father and to raise awareness for mental health. He got the idea of doing a one mile sprint after enjoying 3 years of Ms. Moody's Mile Madness at Fallbrook Elementary School in Leominster, Massachusetts. Jack promotes physical activity as a way to stay mentally healthy and hopes you will join him in a run, walk, bike or any type of physical movement for a mile on May 22, 2022 (May is Mental Health Awareness Month). In addition to promoting mental health awareness, Jack hopes to raise $3,000.00. All contributions towards his goal will be donated to Eliot Community Human Services, an organization that Jack's father benefitted greatly from. You can learn more about Eliot Community Human Services at https://www.eliotchs.org.
This will be an in-person and virtual event. You can choose to participate with Jack and his family in Leominster, MA - Barrett Park at 10:00am or you can choose to participate in your own neighborhood. Be sure to wear green for your mile as green is the color for mental health awareness and post a picture on FaceBook and tag us at @SpencerSprint.
