On June 14, 2023, The Animal Pad executed our largest rescue to date. The shelter formerly known as Ellos Son La Razon (ESLR) in Ensenada, Mexico was seized by the Mexican Government, and TAP was asked to take over the shelter. Over the next several months, we cared for and exited over 400 dogs who had been living in horrific conditions at ESLR. We placed many of them in immediate foster homes but were left with 101 dogs with no place to go.

In 2024, TAP spent $79,319 to care for the remaining 101 dogs. This includes building kennels to house them at the Los Adoptables shelter, spay/neuter surgeries, flea/tick meds, food, and staff to take care of them. We currently spend $6900/month to feed and care for the remaining 66 dogs. Help us bring these costs down by sponsoring some of their care!
