Callen-Lorde's annual Advocacy Day will be held on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024; and for the first time in four years, we will be back in-person! The theme for the day will be Empowering Health. We're preparing to send 20 advocates to Albany, and invite you to help sponsor an LGBTQ+ Health Advocate!

Advocates will join us for a day of meetings and important conversations with New York State legislators, their staff, and other advocates to discuss the LGBTQ+ health issues that impact our patients and our lives such as:

Highlighting the need for New York to update its policies and regulations to align with World Professional Association for Transgender Health's Standards of Care version 8
Continuing to push for an end to the HIV epidemic with streamlined HIV testing regulations and investments in PrEP equity
Urging greater access to behavioral health with telehealth payment parity
And fighting for young people to be able to control their own health care … to name a few of the topics.

Our costs for transportation, lunch, t-shirts and materials are $150 per Advocate. You can sponsor an Advocate (or a portion of the cost) to help us raise our voices for LGBTQ+ health in Albany on February 6th.

Callen-Lorde’s grassroots heritage dates back over 50 years to the St. Marks Clinic and the Gay Men’s Health Project – two volunteer-based clinics that provided safe and confidential sexual health and primary care regardless of ability to pay.
