It's been an extremely busy and impactful 12 months for Hands On Atlanta...

Together, we’re making big strides by connecting students to educational opportunities, caring for teachers & school staff, meeting urgent needs inside and outside of the classroom, combating food insecurity and reviving students' love of learning.

On the impact side, we grew our engagement numbers by more than 50% from 2021, mobilizing 37,000 Atlantans to do something good! Combined with the state of Georgia's largest AmeriCorps program, we tallied 190,000 hours served across metro Atlanta. These big numbers resulted in supporting over 9,000 students and the distribution 10+ million meals to families in our community.

With all of these big accomplishments and milestones from the past year, we still have a lot of work to do...

Your donation to our fundraiser will support strategic programming and community engagement efforts to fulfill on our commitment to youth. That could mean more nonprofits participating in our Educational Equity or Food Security programming, more AmeriCorps members tutoring and coaching students, or even more students enrolled in our Discovery program. Your donation could also inspire more conversations (and more action) about affordable housing or providing more safe green spaces for kids to play and learn.

We know that education enables a path for students to strong careers, and social & economic growth, but 1 in 5 Atlanta students will not graduate from high school, and only 34% of elementary school students are reading at grade level. Parents are facing financial pressures, teachers are overwhelmed and under resourced, but our students - our students are hopeful.

For every $1 you donate to Hands On Atlanta, $6 in economic impact is created.

Hands On Atlanta was founded in 1989 with a mission to mobilize the Atlanta community to tackle our city’s most pressing needs. Now in our 34th year, we have a vision to make Atlanta the most civically engaged and equitable community in the world.
