Hi. I am the Podcasting Instructor for our North Lawndale team and can you believe I have been teaching for 8 years?! Me either. WILD! So much growth has happened since my first day teaching until now. I use to be so nervous to teach Chicago teens. Now I have been able to work in both the South and the Westsides of the City and that is thanks to the consistent training and efforts from True Star. One of the biggest dilemmas as an instructor is snacks or meals for our teens while they are in programming and transportation. Often times they miss opportunities because they can't afford to make it there. This year, our Sprint into 2025 campaign is raising $60,000 to fund a sprinter van that will be so much more than just transportation: 🚐 Safe, reliable travel to workshops, job sites, and community events—even on cold days like today. 🎥 On-the-go media production experiences, giving more students the chance to learn marketable skills and valuable industry experience. 🌟 Expanded mentorship opportunities that connect our stars with community and industry leaders who inspire them to dream big. 💰Here’s how you can help on this @givingtuesday $50 provides transportation for one student to attend a training session. $100 funds a hands-on media workshop. $250 helps equip the mobile media studio with essential tools for creativity.
