St. Jude's Catholic Academy in Mweiga, Nyeri, Kenya is an amazing school with so much positive energy, love and hospitality. Mike Shawver and his family first visited the school in July 2025 at the invitation of Fr. Marty Holler, Mike's college campus minister from Ohio University. Mike and his family fell in love with the kids and school. Mike recently returned to the school in June 2026 with 9 students from Loyola High School and another teacher.

Mike and his family started this foundation to help raise funds to support the kids and school. The school needs a lot of help. They would like to drill their own water well to ensure that they have regular water. All of the teachers need laptops and projectors. They need a science lab and the necessary materials. The needs are great, but with your help, we can really improve the educational experience and resources needed for the kids to succeed.
