World Sickle Cell Day

Over 150,000 children are born with SCD each year in Nigeria alone. Less than half of these will live to see their fifth birthday.

With your help, we can change that.

Over the last five years we at the Brain and Body Foundation have been working feverishly to address this and to bring down the annual death rate of this demographic from over 50% to less than 10% by 2025.

This year's World Sickle Cell Day is a huge opportunity to tell the country about the discoveries we have made from the groundbreaking research we did in collaboration with the Lagos State Government (https://www.brainandbodyfoundation.org/vitamin-d-research/), the nationwide Project SCD Nigeria (https://www.brainandbodyfoundation.org/projectscdnigeria/) we did in partnership with the McCourty Twins (NFL Super Bowl winners), and work we have been doing with government clinics around Abuja (https://www.brainandbodyfoundation.org/wusecentre/) - discoveries that will benefit people living with SCD.

Thank you and looking for your kind support.
