A Virtual Workshop with Asher McMaher, Executive Director of Trans Up Front IL
Take the next step in your advocacy journey with this advanced training session led by Asher McMaher, Executive Director of Trans Up Front IL. Designed for those who have attended the initial “Advocating with Purpose” workshop or have foundational knowledge of TGNC issues, this session goes deeper into the skills and strategies needed to create lasting, systemic change in support of transgender and gender non-conforming (TGNC) students.
Through interactive discussion and applied learning, this 102-level training will focus on:
-Applying legal knowledge to real-world scenarios impacting TGNC students in Illinois
-Developing and implementing inclusive policies within schools and community spaces
-Strengthening advocacy techniques, including navigating resistance and building coalitions
-Sharpening public speaking and storytelling skills to elevate TGNC voices and drive change
This is a space to grow, reflect, and refine your advocacy with purpose and intention. Come prepared to engage more deeply and leave with actionable strategies to take your support to the next level.
