Citizens of Alfred - Stop the Quarry

Citizens of Alfred-Stop the Quarry is working to protect the natural environment and prevent an industrial project from disrupting acres of undeveloped and precious land.  A for-profit corporation has applied to create a hard rock quarry-blasting ledge and grinding, sifting and transporting tons of rock on land that contains diverse and abundant wildlife, vernal pools and wetland habitat.  The proposed quarry would produce dangerous pollutants that would be released into the air, water and land, effecting the animals and humans living nearby or within it.
