Stormy HW+

Stormy, a 3-4 year old Flat Coat Retriever Mix was found wandering around, rummaging through trash.  After seeing her a few days, she was followed to an abandoned building where she was found to have a litter of newborn puppies she was desperately trying to care for.  Forced to rummage the trash just to keep her body producing milk, so her babies would live, the true definition of a selfless mother.  They were finally able to capture her and her puppies and get them to safety.  What state she was in was shocking.  She was incredibly thin, she is missing one of her back paws, and the shelter discovered she was heartworm positive.  This poor girl couldn't catch a break!  However, after coming into GRRA, she was found to have a tunneling infection in her leg that is missing a paw, she has shrapnel in her other back leg, which indicates she has been shot in the past.  She also arrived with kennel cough that has now turned into an upper respiratory infection.  Stormy is scared to death, to the point they are having to carry her outside to potty, she cannot bring herself to walk on a leash.  To say this was a shock is an understatement.  Please help us get Stormy the medical treatment she needs.  She is now facing an amputation of her deformed leg.  Stormy needs a bright ray of sunshine after the rough start she has had.
