Sunshine Girl Saylor
Help Saylor Swim
A little girl who loves sunshine, swimsuits, bubbles, coloring, and dressing up as her favorite princess is in the fight of her life.
Saylor’s cancer — DIPG — is one of the rarest and most aggressive brain tumors known, and right now, there’s no cure.
She’s just five years old.
She’s completed 30 rounds of radiation, traveled to Denver for a clinical trial, and still finds a reason to smile every single day.
Saylor is nonverbal, but she communicates through her tablet, or by showing a movie scene that says exactly what she’s feeling.
And when words fall short, her joy speaks for her.
If there’s sunshine or water nearby, she’s at peace.
Her mom says it best:
“Days aren’t promised, so instead of borrowing worry, we’re leaning into the good ones, when she’s happy, content, and more like herself.”
Between travel, appointments, hotels, and the weight of constant uncertainty, what this family needs most right now is time... time to breathe, time to be together, and time to make memories that will last forever.
This page exists to give them that time, together.
☀️ Swim Spa Dream
For Saylor, the water isn’t just fun, it’s peace. Because of her autism, water helps her regulate, calm, and reconnect when the world feels overwhelming. It’s where her body relaxes and her joy comes alive. She took 13 baths in one day and completed 27 of 30 radiation treatments in her swimsuit because the water makes her feel safe and free. A swim spa would give her that comfort at home, allowing her family to create healing, happy memories together in the time they have left.
💛 What your donation does right now
Covers immediate family needs: travel, lodging, lost wages, meals, and everyday costs that pile up during treatment and time away from home.
Buys time: time for mom and dad to be by Saylor’s side without choosing between a paycheck and a hospital room.
Creates moments: helps the family take a trip to the beach, pay down bills, and fulfill Saylor’s dream of having a swim spa — so she can spend her days in the water she loves most.
☀️ Where your dollar goes (radical transparency)
Net proceeds support Saylor’s family. We keep this simple:
$0.85 of every $1 goes directly to Saylor’s family.
$0.15 of every $1 supports the One Dollar Dream movement run by Strength Through Stories (STS) — the nonprofit that manages donations, verifies needs, covers banking/processing and production costs, and builds a small team so we can help more families.
Our promise: clear updates, real impact, and respect for Saylor’s family’s privacy. When we can share, we will — publicly and often.
💫 Why monthly matters
A one-time gift changes today.
A monthly gift builds tomorrow.

💬 A note from Devin
(Founder, STS & Creator of One Dollar Dream)
I started Strength Through Stories because I believe in the power of people.
When communities rally, hope rises.
I’m choosing to do this work full-time because of families like the Burchs. The 15% you see above helps cover real costs like verification, platform fees, accountants, production, travel, and the media that lets us tell these stories with excellence and integrity.
If you ever have questions, please reach out. Transparency isn’t a slogan here, it’s our operating system.
