Help us help Sunny, a newly rescued senior horse. Our goal is to raise funds to cover Sunny’s recovery, ensuring he receives everything he needs to safely settle into sanctuary life.

Sunny had a good life—until he didn’t. For 31 years, he faithfully served his owner, doing everything he was asked to do: marching in parades, carrying the flag at rodeos, and working cattle. When his working days were over, Sunny was scheduled to be euthanized—until a friend stepped in to save him.

Tragically, that friend soon faced serious and unexpected medical crises within her family, leaving her unable to meet Sunny’s growing needs. As time passed, his body deteriorated. Desperate for help, she reached out.

When we saw Sunny’s photo, we knew the situation was urgent. We immediately went to bring him home to begin his new life at the sanctuary.

Horses can live into their late 30s and even early 40s, yet most do not survive past their 20s. As horses age, the cost of proper feed, hoof care, and veterinary support increases significantly, even when a horse is otherwise healthy. Sadly, many senior horses are euthanized or sent to slaughter simply because they become too expensive to care for.

This was nearly the reality for Sunny

As a family-run organization, every new rescue is a major responsibility. The cost and labor required to care for senior horses is substantial, but it is work we are deeply committed to. Each new rescue increases our daily expenses, and this is where we truly need your help.
