Dr. Shani Davis for Woman of Impact

I have been nominated for the Tampa 2024 American Heart Association’s Woman of Impact distinction, and I need your help to win. Heart & Soul weekend is a transformative health information sharing space that celebrates the unique ways of African American fellowship. This project is designed to expand heart health awareness, advocacy, and preventive research engagement in women, African Americans, other minorities, and poor communities given the disparate morbidity and mortality rates from diseases that are mostly preventable.

WOMAN of IMPACT is an American Heart Association initiative to drive awareness and raise funds for heart disease prevention in Tampa, and in communities nationally. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of African American women, all African Americans, and all Americans. More communities need to be aware of these statistics. This campaign is an opportunity to make an IMPACT on the communities disproportionately affected by cardiovascular related mortality, and make the connections to information, research, and resources needed to save lives.
