Support Our Mares

Expenses for ColdSpring Mares Inc include but are not limited to :

• Roughly 240 tons of alfalfa and grass hay per year.

• Roughly 30,000 pounds of grain per year.

• Farrier, dental and vet care for 50-60 mares.

• Almost $100,000 per year for our facility lease (until we can purchase our own or find a new facility with a more accessible lease).

• Staffing to oversee and care for the horses, pairings, bookkeeping, accounting, and maintenance.

• Facility maintenance and equipment for facility upkeep

• Vehicles for transport, feeding, repairs, and daily care.
  
  
• Insurance, subscriptions, fees, and other overhead costs.

Currently, we are limited to the number of mares we can accept into the program because of our expenses. The current nurse mare lease fee is set to cover a  portion of these expenses, but we rely heavily on community support to remain operational. With your support, we aim to be able to keep our mare lease fees accessible making our mares more affordable for every family in need. Through your support, our ability to help more people with retiring broodmares and orphaned foals will help put a stop to the traditional and cruel nurse mare industry.
