Engineers & Scientists Acting Locally (ESAL) is catalyzing a national network of scientists and engineers bringing knowledge and skills out of the labs and into rooms where local and state decisions are made. We are helping local leaders and our communities cut through the noise to use science to help us all live longer, healthier lives.

While much attention is on actions taken in D.C., we are influencing the consequential decisions made at local and state levels that most directly shape our lives.

ESAL is the leading organization building capacity of the STEM community to ensure evidence-based decision making has champions in every community. We have trained 1800+ scientists and engineers to serve, advise, build community, and advocate in communities across the country.
