FCLA YEARLY CAMPAIGN
Our organization has been in existence since 2009 and our mission is to emphasize the awareness of individual self-worth, creativity and purpose. Our name, Family, Community and Leadership in Action Inc, simply embodies the universal principles that are applicable to all without regard to race. Strong families, create strong communities and strong communities promote proper leadership with action.
We've partnered with organizations like the Mama Hills Help and the Ilm foundation to assist the youth and the homeless. We've been a part of a group called the coalition to preserve human dignity (CPHD) since 2009. CPHD is a group of organizations that worked together to feed and provide vital supplies to the homeless during an annual event called Humanitarian Day. Our organization has remained true to our mission with creative ways (with limited resources) to give back and promote Individual self-worth and purpose. We have been extremely active with the youth over the years working with the University of Southern California (USC's) Kids-Corner program and taking kids to USC sporting events.
We have sponsored numerous community events in the Los Angeles area focused on family outings and mentorships. In 2018, we created an AAU Basketball program based out of the city of Moreno Valley (MoVal Monstarz) and lead by Coach J (Jerrod Blair a Moreno Valley Resident).

Today we have a number of kids, both boys and girls ages 7-17, participating in our program. Coach J and Coach Marcus are managing the growth of our basketball program but we know in order for us to reach our full potential we'll need access to resources (facilities, grants, donations, etc.). We also understand that we'll need to let the public know (marketing) about our work.
We travel throughout Southern California participating in local basketball tournaments. We've taken kids to Orlando, Florida (twice) and Las Vegas, Nevada to participate in national tournaments. We also took our youth to visit Bismarck State College (the Alma Mater of both Coach J and Coach Marcus) in Bismarck, ND. The out-of-state trips have been sponsored largely out of our own pockets.
Sponsoring trips out of our own pocket is extremely unstainable, and we are actively attempting to inform the public of our existence. Your support would assist us in acheiving our goals and allow us to utilize our 501(c)(3) status in a more effective manner.
We would also like to lighten the financial burden on our parents in reference to the costs for local and national tournaments, equipment, facility rentals and families that can't afford to participate in our program. We pride ourselves in developing local talent and our goal is to expose our youth to opportunities created from the sport of basketball.
