Founded in 1962, the Arts Center has long served as a beacon for the region’s artists and creatives. Over the years, we have grown not only in our physical presence but also in our ability to serve thousands of the region’s residents, expanding our offerings to accommodate the needs and desires of our members and constituents. The classrooms, workshops and galleries within our headquarters at 265 River Street contain our organization’s beating heart: open, accessible spaces where everyone is welcome and the lights are always on.
The Arts Center’s services benefit a myriad number of diverse interests and individuals. Our membership and class offerings for children, teens, and adult learners from the core of our education department, but we have grown our program to service young people who attend week-long intensive arts camps; college students who receive credit from Hudson Valley Community College for their coursework at the Arts Center; children and adults with disabilities; local artists and organizations who receive technical assistance in finance, planning, fundraising, administration, and grantsmanship; collaborating and partnering professional groups, other arts and like-minded organizations; public, charter, and private schools who contract with us for art instruction, both at the Arts Center and at the schools; community groups who use the Center to host meetings, readings, exhibitions, events, and performances; and the public at large who attend exhibits, programs, and performances at the Arts Center.
We are proud of our decades-long record of growth and service on behalf of our community's creatives. With you help, we can continue this tradition. Your donation will directly benefit artists in the region across a wide variety of programs & initiatives. We hope you will consider donating today.
