Support for the Szegda Family

Friend In Need is organizing a fundraising campaign through GiveButter to support the Szegda family. On January 17, 2025, Dave Szegda passed away suddenly, leaving his family to face unforeseen financial challenges. In line with our mission, all funds raised will be used to directly pay the family's upcoming bills, ensuring they receive the necessary support during this difficult time.

Friend In Need, established in 2003 by Avalon residents, is a grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting families in Cape May County during times of sudden financial strain due to illness, death, or injury. Rather than providing funds directly to beneficiaries, Friend In Need pays bills on their behalf, assisting with expenses such as mortgages, medical bills, utilities, car payments, insurance, hotel stays, and groceries.
