Community Dental Chair

We would like to fund a community dental chair in Friday Harbor. We have a lead dentist and a location. A community dental chair would best serve our ferry-dependent island community. A sealant program will establish healthy teeth for future success for our young community members. Women who are pregnant are also a priority: poor oral health during pregnancy can lead to poor health outcomes for the mother and baby. The community dental chair will also enable members of our community be seen on island without the expense of leaving work for the day and paying cost-prohibitive ferry fees and fuel expense for appointments all while missing a day of work in many cases. In our community Apple Care patients can only be seen off-island so community members may forgo treatment in order to maintain income and childcare circumstances.
