My name is Edwin. I am a sophomore in high school, and I am in a Spanish Immersion Program. Since I can remember, I have enjoyed music, but especially singing. In middle school I joined choir for the first time and loved it. Then I joined the show choir there and loved that as well. Now I’m in high school and still in choir, and since my freshman year have also been singing with my church’s adult chorus. My profile photo is of me singing a solo at church on Reformation Sunday, 2025.

It was through my church, Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, that I found out about LSM. I went to LSM last summer and had the time of my life! So this year I would like to go again. Last year I learned so much, and it has helped me a lot in my choral career. It would mean so much to me if I could go back. We aren’t poor, but we also don’t really have extra money to pay for things like LSM, and so fundraising will help ensure that I can do something I love without it straining my parents so much. Lutheran Summer Music Academy & Festival (LSM) is the nation’s premier faith-based music academy for high school students. In addition to advanced musical instruction and numerous performance opportunities, LSM students form an intentional community, living together for four weeks on a Lutheran college campus. Since 1981, this unique and immersive program has guided the lives of young musicians who credit LSM as the starting place for their future careers and vocations.

LSM was founded to celebrate and extend the rich musical heritage of the Lutheran church. Our founders believed that by providing high-quality training and performance opportunities to young musicians they could cultivate a lifelong love of classical and sacred music, thus preserving these art forms for generations to come.
