For about 60 years, Troop 719’s Pancake Breakfast has not only been our most important fundraiser, it also is a long-standing local community event and annual gathering of the Troop 719 family, friends and supporters of Scouting in the Gardena/Torrance community. As our sister Scout Troop 310G has continued to grow, we are thrilled to again combine efforts and look forward to seeing our alumni, friends and community gather again in support of our Scouts at Troop 719 & 310G's 2024 Pancake Breakfast!

The Pancake Breakfast will served at the Gardena Valley Japanese Cultural Institute. We are looking forward to have you join us to enjoy your pre-ordered breakfast plates prepared by Scouts, Parents and alumni of Troop 719 & Troop 310G. For convenience, we will also provide an option for take-out or pick up where our Scouts will assist you with your breakfasts to-go.

Thank you to all of our troop family and friends who supported us in 2023 at our Pancake Breakfast and at Troop 719’s Bento Fundraiser with Cherrystones! With your support, our Scouts were able to experience a memorable Scouting year that included weekend backpacking trips in the Cleveland National Forest, Angeles National Forest and Whitewater Nature Preserve. We also held a family camp at Carpentaria State Beach and went to Summer camp at Camp Big Horn near Lake Arrowhead. Our year was highlighted by our trek to the island of Maui. In addition to treks totaling about 25 miles in the rain forests and volcanic crater on Maui, our two troops assisted the congregation at Makawao Buddhist Temple in Maui at their Obon Festival. Shortly after our return to the mainland, we reconnected with our new friends to donate equipment and supplies; and help coordinate focused support for relief efforts after the fires decimated the greater Lahaina community. In the fall we continued our traditional Rock Climbing weekend at Joshua Tree National Park and continued our collaboration with Troop 578 with an event at Oso Lake Scout Camp. Both Troop 719 and 310G also continued our focus on the development of our scouts as leaders and rank advancement.

In May and October of 2023, for the first time in over four years, we proudly honored the achievements of 15 Troop 719 Eagle Scouts from the Eagle classes of 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 by holding two long delayed Eagle Court of Honor; completing our emergence from the Pandemic.

We're both proud that seven Troop 719 Scouts advanced to the rank of Eagle in 2023, with several more ready to approach that summit this year. We're also proud of the achievements of Troop 310G as several Scouts now have the Eagle rank within sight as they have advanced into the more senior ranks of Scouting. Our Scouts also continued to support their community through assisting with food drives, toy drives, Halloween candy distribution, helping local families during Thanksgiving and other community events. Together with Troop 310G we were happy to continue our troop’s annual tradition of honoring the memory of service members on Memorial Day at Green Hills Memorial Park and VFW Post 1961. We are also proud of the progress made by our sister Troop 310G as they have grow to over 20 members and continue to increase their skills and experience in the outdoors and on the trail. Both our troops stayed strong and thrived because of your help and support.

Looking ahead to 2024, in addition to our normal Scouting activities, Troop 719 and 310G will be returning to the Sierra Nevada mountain range for our Long Term treks where we will cover between 25 and 50 miles and hope to climb a peak or two.

We’re looking forward to seeing you again! We are excited for the opportunity to again serve and reconnect with our alumni, friends and supporting community as we sit together and once again enjoy each other’s company.
