TG Rapid Response Fund

The goal of TG's Rapid Response Fund is to be able to provide support and resources for families impacted by violence, deportation, queer & transphobia folks, all who have urgent or unexpected needs. Many are often displaced, need immediate housing, food, legal support and advocacy - which can become very expensive and unaffordable, especially if they are not the main breadwinner. 

Your donation helps to move impacted folks re-establish stability and gives them added support to seek justice, to reorientate after trauma and separation and gives them a fighting chance. 

$250 helps families be able to send care items with deportation-impacted member if they are allowed, families often send supplies after family members are out of detention, also pays for transportation for families using Lyft/taxis to get to appointment with advocates, lawyers, community-based organizations and court. 

$300 covers one day of meal for a family with 3-4 people, $600 covers groceries for the week. 

$500-1500 covers a lawyers retainer fee to fight cases, basic legal support normally costs about $5000.

$1,200 provides one week hotel stay for a family of 1-4 people. 

$5,000 supports legal costs for impacted folks and their families to get justice or fight cases. 

$38,000 covers part of our advocate's position to be able to continue supporting families and impacted folks. 

$75,000 covers one year of our advocate's salary to support community.
