Act 60 Donations

Thank you for considering us for your Act 60 Donation! We are a registered 501(c)3 non-profit with 1101.01(a) status with CECFL designation to eradicate child poverty in Puerto Rico. We are qualified to receive both portions of the donation requirements (SEE DETAILS HERE). Please make checks out to "The Girasol School" and deliver to our office in Dorado. We will issue certified receipts required for CPA compliance by December 31, 2025. 

The Girasol School is an equitable bilingual Montessori school serving ages 2.5-12 in both indoor and outdoor learning environments. We are the first authentic Montessori program in the Dorado area striving to meet the demands of a growing community consisting of returning diaspora Puerto Ricans, global transplants, and supporting local families with limited education options. The Girasol Community resources are available to families both in and outside the school as we aspire to teach peace and unify people. 

We have achieved Full Enrollment for our second school year with a waitlist as we are meeting a much needed demand in our community. 48% of families receive subsidized tuition of which 18% of those families fall below HUD rates for Low Median Income threshold. With additional funding we plan to grow our school offering more spaces, on site therapies, and expanding to higher grades. Our immediate needs are moving into a bigger facility with more classrooms and to continue supporting our subsidized tuition offerings at scale.
