Join us for The History Project’s 45th Anniversary Celebration, a fundraiser party dedicated to the vibrant community that keeps Boston's LGBTQIA2S+ history alive!

Since 1980, The History Project has been dedicated to documenting, preserving, and sharing Boston’s LGBTQ+ history. What started as a small group has grown into one of the largest LGBTQ+ community archives in the U.S. Over the decades, we have documented stories of resilience, hosted groundbreaking exhibitions, and fought to ensure that our history is never forgotten. Through times of crisis, including the height of the AIDS epidemic, we remained steadfast in our mission, preserving the legacies of our community and the activism that changed lives. Today, we stand as a testament to the power of community and the importance of remembering where we came from.

This milestone isn’t just about looking back—it’s about coming together in person to honor our shared history, recognize how far we’ve come, and recommit to preserving our stories for future generations. We invite you to celebrate with us, to share memories, to connect with fellow community members, and to stand together in commemoration of all we have achieved.

📍 Location: Democracy Brewing, 35 Temple Place, Boston, MA

⏰ Time: Doors open at 6 PM

What to Expect:

• Come As You Are Attire: Be yourself and join us, just as you are!

• 6 PM: Start the night with appetizers and drinks while connecting with friends and fellow history enthusiasts. One beer, mocktail, hard seltzer, or soda is included with your ticket — and a cash bar for all else.

• 7:30 PM: Enjoy a dazzling drag performance by Stabitha Christie and Andi van Dyke with an homage to the year of THP's founding: 1980!

• Cake: Because what’s a birthday party without cake?

The History Project is Boston’s LGBTQ+ community archive, dedicated to preserving historical records, ephemera, and stories. Since 1980, this independent nonprofit has supported research, hosted public exhibits and events, and shared LGBTQ+ history with individuals, organizations, and the public.
