Robin has a WOW attitude when she comes to volunteer and sees all the food that has been donated and is very grateful that the community is so so good to THRIVE in supporting their mission and helping others. Robin totally believes in THRIVE’s mission and believes in her heart that God’s hand is guiding all the resources to this organization. . I love the Director, staff, and volunteers at THRIVE, who can be trusted to help and support one another to complete the mission together. Because I love what I do, I love volunteering for this organization, donating much needed food and/or monies (give local), blessing bags, school supplies, etc. which are used to meet the basic needs for our Peninsula neighbors facing hardship. It blows my mind how the community comes together to support the food needs by donating to THRIVE, as well as those who show up faithfully to fill pantry orders and deliver groceries to those who have no transportation.
THRIVE continues to grow and more individuals need help more than ever, and more volunteers are wanted and needed to help others. There are many different job tasks for all types of people to keep their interest and fulfilled someone’s dream of getting out of debt and getting back on their feet. It’s taking the next step that is totally life changing.
Robin says that THRIVE is a great place to volunteer, you work hard, bless others and feel good once you walked out that door, knowing that you made a difference in somebody’s else life. If you are interested in serving the community, please join our team. Volunteering at THRIVE is a great way to meet people, have fun and make an impact on our community.
Robin feels blessed and rewarded knowing that she is making a difference in someone else’s life when individuals who are struggling trust THRIVE and take a chance on us to let go of the Pride and become Humble and ask for help. There are many individuals who work hard and get behind on their bills due to emergencies, health concerns, job losses due to a lay off and the time it takes to find another, the economy with prices increases especially for food and gas. It’s like you have to rob Peter to Pay Paul. I hate the thought of someone who is starving and cannot afford to pay their bills because it’s out of their control. Life is so unfair sometimes and I’m so happy to be a part of someone’s life in helping them get back on their feet. These people really do appreciate the help that THRIVE is providing for them and I am very thankful for this opportunity to be a part of helping others.
The families we serve receive a week's worth of food through our food pantry during a time when they are facing significant hardship and when I asked them if they would like to have food, their whole faces light up, and this brings a smile to my face.
We are worth something. We are unique. Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now, be thankful, be blessed and share your gift with others and be a blessing in the eyes of God.
