During 2023 Dara has made so much progress while also having some setbacks along the way.

He has been working a lot on his verbal communication this year and is definitely making his voice heard at home! He has also had some great strides forward physically and has been enjoying his balance bike, swimming and playing more with his brother Sam.

Another positive feature of the year is how much he now enjoys playing with other children and he is able to participate in many more group activities at pre-school.

Dara became a big brother this year and has been adapting well to having Baby Robin around. 

Unfortunately we also had a resurgence of seizure activity this year which we struggled to get under control for many months. This seems to be a pattern for Dara and generally happens during times he has a development spurt or is feeling unwell. 

We hope to raise money to improve the awareness of this rare (but probably not so rare) condition so other children can have early access to treatments like the Ketogenic diet. We also are excited by the ongoing research in this area and are proud to support that work.
