Keep the lights on at Prototype x Sharpsburg!

As a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization, we need your help to continue our Sharpsburg location! Our goal is to raise $9,000 by July 1st so that we can sign a new lease for September 1st (rent is $750/month and we need to give our landlord 60 days' notice that we are staying). Visit us on Sunday, July 13th from 12-2pm at 606 Main Street in Sharpsburg for our monthly Open House to pick up your keychain and tote bag as a thank you for your donation!

Prototype x Sharpsburg is our wheelchair accessible location that opened in September 2024. This location also houses our Maker to Manufacturer workforce development program which engages low-income community members in free makerspace and manufacturing classes, and connects them with jobs in the advanced manufacturing sector.

In the spring of 2025, Prototype PGH launched a Maker to Manufacturer program for 30 people in partnership with the CMU Manufacturing Futures Institute and New Century Careers. This 6-month program is funded by the CMU Block Center as part of the Build Back Better initiative. Our grant funding ends in September, but we are currently securing more grants for the next cohort. In the meantime, we need your help to keep the lights on at Prototype x Sharpsburg so that we can host another cohort here!
