Luis M.'s Story

Hey everyone! I'm Luis and I attend TLC. My parents chose TLC so that I'd have the opportunity to hang with my peers who have similar abilities to me. I love the activities at TLC, especially watering the garden. Plus, I get to hang out with my mom who works at TLC and my dad who's kind of famous at TLC. He's none other than "Mr. Mario" the Music Man! When I'm not at TLC, I enjoy singing, doing art projects and meeting one of my buddies for lunch that I met at Tim Tebow's "Night To Shine" event.

I hope you'll choose to join my Virtual 5K team and help me reach my goal for a place that's close to the hearts of everyone in my family!

A local park, your neighborhood, someone else's neighborhood, the beach, a treadmill, wherever you can get in 3.1 miles. Time: Any time of day, morning or night, between April 23 and May 30, 2022. After registering, you will receive a link to send us the details of your race. You can choose the orange "Donate/Register" button to donate or register. If you prefer, you can build your own team or join an existing team to help us raise funds by selecting the blue "Join a Team" button located just below our logo and goal bar. Questions? Story

TLC is a nonprofit organization made up of parents, family members, educators and people from your community, dedicated to improving the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This year, TLC is close to finishing construction on the Outdoor Pavilion at the Carmen & Carlos Community Center where we house our daily programs. This is the second of four phases that will include an outdoor sportsplex and recreation area, and, in later phases, a gymnasium and residential housing. "Members" who attend TLC programs are adults who have social, emotional, physical and independence challenges. Our programs build confidence and set goals so that each individual can find a sense of belonging and value in work-like experiences.

Every day is a new day at TLC and we love helping our members to:

Strengthen their Independence, Build Friendships, Explore their World, and Grow in Faith!
