The Love Pit was born out of a simple, unwavering belief: every dog deserves a chance to be loved. Since opening our hearts and doors in 2015, we’ve made it our mission to rescue, rehabilitate and advocate for pit bull-type dogs — one of the most misunderstood and overlooked breeds in shelters today. What started as a small group of passionate advocates has grown into a thriving rescue community dedicated to giving these incredible dogs the futures they deserve.

This year, we’re proud to celebrate 10 years of lifesaving work. A decade of second chances. A decade of wagging tails, healing hearts and unbreakable bonds between people and dogs. In those ten years, we’ve rescued close to 1,600 dogs from shelters, responsibly rehomed 325 dogs through our iRehome program, invested in lifesaving medical care, built a loving network of foster homes, and launched innovative programs like TLP Thrive for critically ill dogs and iSTAYHOME, which helps families keep their beloved pets during tough times.

But what we’re most proud of is our community — the fosters, adopters, volunteers, and supporters who believe, as we do, that love can change everything. Every dog we save is a testament to what’s possible when people come together for a cause bigger than themselves.
