April came to us as a stray in heartbreaking condition — severely underweight, covered in scrapes and open wounds, and clearly struggling to survive on her own.

Within days of entering foster care, her already fragile body began to decline rapidly. She developed severe respiratory distress and had to be rushed to our veterinary partner, Revive ER, when her oxygen levels dropped dangerously low.

April was immediately placed in an oxygen chamber and hospitalized.

Further testing confirmed multiple respiratory infections affecting her lungs, including adenovirus, parainfluenza, and mycoplasma. Because of her severe malnutrition, her immune system was extremely compromised, making these infections far more dangerous.

Her treatment has included:

• Emergency hospitalization

• Oxygen therapy

• IV antibiotics

• Nebulizer treatments

• Radiographs and ongoing monitoring

The cost of her care has already reached over $9,000, and she is still receiving treatment and monitoring as her body fights to recover.

Despite everything she has endured, April remains incredibly sweet and gentle. She is fighting hard, and we are committed to giving her every chance to recover.
